While working more with material I did a bit of experimentation with printing. I simply used my sample of mesh in different ways which gave me pieces in which I could work with further. In keeping with my idea of distortion in water I divided one print into strips on a backing of white paper which made the image visually confusing and distorted.

After photographing the small scale water representation made with wire and thread, inspired by the photography of Wolfgang Tillmanns, I decided to do a larger scale piece with charcoal, wire and thread. Working with thread and materials then lead me to experiment with print.

Did a bit of experimentation with typography and loved that so that's going to be explored a bit more. Also looked at work by Wolfgang Tillmans recently, pieces where he experiments with photography, which gave a similar effect to ink being dropped in water but it looks like hair as well! So by using different materials in water I'm going to see what images I can make myself with a similar result.

I started off looking at water movement and how it distorts images. To do this I started making my own 3D pieces and photographing them to create an effect of water moving which turned out to be a lot more interesting that just pictures of water so I'm going to go with making more 3D things for a while.

It took a while but I've finally decided on one direction to go in with this project so I should have more updates now!
